Rook Behavioral Health Training & Consulting encompasses more than 90 years of combined law enforcement experience and 65 years of combined service, dedicated to supporting those who persevere with behavioral health concerns and disabilities. Our staff has had the honor of directly serving our communities through a diverse scope of roles to include direct therapy, patrol operations in conjunction with co-response initiatives, case management, disability services, justice diversion, crisis intervention/prevention, and training. Indirectly, the need for our services has been developed through lifelong careers shaped through our service in working for local mental health authorities, hospitals, integrated healthcare, jails, police training, SWAT/Negotiations, Covert Operations, Internal Affairs, and command level management.
Although each individual team member has their own unique career and motivation to serve, throughout our careers each of us have independently come to the same conclusion: A great number of those we serve experience, persevere, and endure with behavioral health concerns or disabilities that create vulnerabilities. Those vulnerabilities could be greatly mitigated through education, enhanced understanding, and integrated law enforcement strategies to facilitate safer, less stressful, trauma-informed and positive outcome oriented care. This shared ethos and desire resulted in years of traveling the United States to identify, research, learn & implement best practices within our communities and organizations.
Although we are all life-long learners, it is our desire that your search to better serve your community benefit from our many years in direct support of not only individuals, but also their families, support systems, providers, and all levels of criminal justice from call-take to community supervision. In support of this initiative, we strive to pass along not only our successes, but also our struggles. We hold strong values related to a humanistic, procedurally just, and integrated holistic approach of care.
Our training and consultation services have been utilized by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, district attorney’s offices, inpatient hospitals, and corporate Human Resources and security teams. We believe we are a small part of a greater community who shares our values and motivation to help others and hope to help you and your organizations develop the tools and cultures to cohesively and efficiently serve as well.
