Angela Bell is a native Floridian and a graduate of Troy State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. She is a Behavioral Health Response Officer with the Arlington Police Department Behavioral Health Law Enforcement Unit (BHLEU). Additionally, she serves within the unit as the training director of behavioral health topics for both recruits and incumbent officers, as well as training for community groups and outside agencies. She is responsible for follow up and case management of high-risk individuals and group home investigations within her city.
Angela is a 24 year veteran officer with extensive field and training experience. She is a TCOLE Instructor, Mental Health Peace Officer, Gracie Survival Tactics Instructor, CISM certified and holds her Master Peace Officer Certification. Angela has maintained a position as co-lead instructor for Patrol Skills for the recruit academy since 2012. She is a member of the Peer Support team, a prior PTO and held a position as a Basic Academy Coordinator for the basic police recruit academy for seven years. As a patrol officer, Angela acted as an ancillary Behavioral Health Response Officer in the field, providing guidance to officers and field supervisors on behavioral health calls.
Angela is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. Angela has attended multiple conferences and trainings with a focus on Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management. She has been a co-presenter for the International Women of Law Enforcement conference since 2021. Angela has volunteered and held a position as Security Coordinator as well as Safety Director on the board of the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb for the past 8 years.
